Winter Relief Campaign: Distributing Warmth and Meals

Share
Our volunteer teams distributed warm blankets, woolen caps, and hot nutritious meals to hundreds of families living on the streets.

The Bitter Cold of Winter When winter sets in, temperatures in northern urban regions plummet to single digits. For those sleeping on pavements, under flyovers, and in temporary slums, the cold is not just uncomfortable—it is life-threatening.

Our Mobilized Night Patrols Throughout December and January, our volunteers assemble at midnight to run our **Warmth and Shelter Campaign**. We focus our efforts on areas with high concentrations of homeless workers and marginalized families.

During our drives:

- We distribute thick, high-quality blankets that offer real insulation.

- We hand out woolen caps, socks, and gloves, particularly to children and the elderly.

- We serve piping hot, freshly cooked lentil soup and rice to provide immediate caloric warmth.

Beyond Immediate Aid While distributing blankets solves the immediate crisis, we also coordinate with municipal night shelters to guide families to safe, indoor accommodation. We register individuals for free health assessments, as winter is particularly harsh on respiratory health.

Join the Campaign This initiative is entirely funded by individual donations and carried out by passionate local volunteers. You can join our night shifts or sponsor blankets directly from our dashboard. Every single blanket counts as a life protected from the elements.

This is a wonderful initiative by the Shivam Thakur Foundation. Clean drinking water is indeed a basic necessity that should be accessible to every village. Keep up the amazing work!

Excellent read. The reduction in waterborne illnesses is a huge milestone for these villages. I would love to volunteer in the next tube well installation drive.
